HORNER'S SYNDROME

Injury to cervical sympathetic trunk produces Horner's syndrome. It is characterized by

  • Ptosis i.e., drooping of the upper eyelid
  • Miosis i.e., constriction of pupil
  • Anhidrosis i.e., loss of sweating on that side of the face
  • Enophthalmos i.e., retraction of the eyeball
  • Loss of spinal reflex i.e., pinching the skin on the nape of the neck does not produce dilatation of the pupil.
